Selfsustained Cross Border Customized Cyber-Physical System Experiments for Capacity Building among European Stakeholders
Technical area: Customized Low Energy Computing Powering CPS & the IoT
Duration: January 2020 – December 2022
Web portal: https://smart4all-project.eu/
About the project
SMART4ALL builds capacity amongst European stakeholders via the development of selfsustained, cross-border experiments that transfer knowledge and technology between academia and industry. It targets CLEC CPS and the IoT and combines a set of unique characteristics that join together under a common vision different cultures, different policies, different geographical areas and different application domains.
SMART4ALL brings a new paradigm for revealing “hidden innovation treasures” from SEE and helping them to find the path to market via new, innovative commercial products. As part of its strategy, the project will develop and maintain an active network of DIHs across SEE for supporting academics, start-ups, SMEs, and mid-caps entering the digitization era. The mechanisms for achieving this are the design and implementation of 88 cross-border PAEs that will be executed by the consortium members and by 3rd party consortia (academics, companies and mid-caps).
Domains targeted are
- Digitized environment
- Digitized transport
- Digitized Agriculture
- Digitized Anything
SMART4ALL will identify 67 (External) Pathfinder Application Experiments (PAEs) through three Types of Open Calls with three different deadlines, addressing the prioritized verticals of Digitized Transport, Digitized Agriculture, Digitized Environment and Digitized Anything.
KTEs – Knowledge Transfer Experiments: A novel type of experiments allowing smaller projects, or less mature ideas to be presented, tested and thus potentially find the fertile ground to grow and reveal its product potentials. KTEs act as internships / traineeships, apprenticeships and short-term training programmes for unemployed people for vacant digital jobs with a budget of up to 8,000€ to cover mobility allowance for implementing the internship.
FTTEs – Focused Technology Transfer Experiments: Within this type of experiments, one party transfers to the receiving partner a specific HW or SW technology in order to enable improved product or processes. The budget of this type is up to 80,000€ to cover staff, travel and equipment
The first open call of this type will open in June 2020.
CTTEs – Cross-domain Technology Transfer Experiments: Complex multidisciplinary transfers and productization of novel CLEC CPS and the IoT technologies to wider markets with a budget of up to 80,000 € to cover staff, travel and equipment
